The Corrosion Testing and Monitoring Group physically located in the Institute of Metal Research Building, employs14 personnel with specialist knowledge and significant contributions to its development. It offers core services in specialized monitoring and testing to clients in industries including oil, refining, petrochemical, chemical and manufacturing. The group attaches great importance to the progress in science and technology and the protection of intellectual property rights and has explored a series of products with patents which have brought in high profit. Those products have subsequently been used in SINOPEC Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Co. Ltd, SINOPEC Shanghai Gaoqiao Company Shanghai Refinery, SINOPEC Jinling Company, SINOPEC Maoming Company, SINOPEC Maoming Refining & Chemical Co.,Ltd., SINOPEC Jinan Company, Daqing Oilfield, Liaohe Oilfield, Shengli Oilfield and SINOPEC Zhongyuan Oilfield Company and so on.

With the start of the Innovative Engineering Programme organized by Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Monitoring and Testing Group, base of Northeast New Material Innovation, is doomed to shoulder the mission of the R&D of technology , innovation , realization of fruit and industrialized growth in corrosion monitoring and testing. We have confidence that we will consistently quicken the R&D of technology to adapt to the demand of clients, strengthen the cooperation with other academic institutes and companies, increase communication and cooperation with foreign countries and range from applying technology in corrosion and materials sciences to professional consultations an specific corrosion problems and assistance in planning research strategies and training programmes.
